FH Potsdam once again in the Top Group for the Proportion of Female Professors in the CEWS University Ranking for Gender Equality in 2023

The current university ranking according to gender equality aspects 2023 by the Center of Excellence Women and Science (CEWS) confirms that the University of Applied Sciences Potsdam is one of the leaders in the nationwide comparison of the proportion of women in professorships. In comparison with 143 other universities of applied sciences and universities of applied sciences, the University of Applied Sciences Potsdam once again positioned itself in the top group with 44.66%.

Since its creation in 2003, the CEWS ranking, which is published every two years, has established itself as a component of quality assurance for gender equality at universities. The aim of the ranking is to compare the performance of universities in terms of gender equality on an ongoing and nationwide basis with the help of quantitative indicators.
The ranking is based exclusively on data from official higher education statistics. Self-reported information from the universities is not collected. This procedure guarantees the comparability and high quality of the ranking.

The current ranking is based on data from 2021. The universities were assessed in the areas of students, doctorates, post-doctoral academic qualifications, academic and artistic staff and professorships. Changes over time in academic and artistic staff and professorships were also taken into account. The indicators follow the logic of the cascade model. The reference values are the proportion of female students and the proportion of female doctorates in the relevant subject groups.
